Singapore Open 2023: Thanks to Ginting for the support of the fans

Badminton News: Anthony Sinisuka Ginting couldn’t hide his joy at being the winner of the Singapore Open World Tour Super 750 tournament which has just ended in Lion City.

Ginting felt comfortable with the large number of home fans who packed the Singapore Indoor Stadium in support of the 26-year-old.

The public support was fully paid for by Anthony, who managed to beat Denmark’s 22nd world player Anders Antonsen in the Singapore Open 2023 final on Sunday (11/6) with 21-16, 21 -13.

“I want to play at home. From the moment I stepped onto the pitch, the crowd supported me. Thank you and I’m grateful for the support. I always feel happy whenever I come to Singapore,” said said Anthony, reported by Antara.

On his way to winning the Singapore Open title this year, Anthony Ginting knocked out top seeds such as Indonesian-born Kong Kong players Angus Ng Ka Long, Brian Yang of Canada, defending champion All England from China, Li Shi Feng and the seventh seed who is also the champion of the Thailand Open last week, Kunlavut Vitidsarn.

Anthony felt this year’s win was no different than last year’s because they were both tough against different opponents, where last year he beat world number 3 Japan , Kodai Naraoka in the final.

“The difference with last year’s title is only in the difference of the opponents. Last year, I fought Kodai Naraoka. It was almost the same, but I had to keep preparing a different strategy As for whether this year was easier, I felt the same, says Anthony.

After winning in Singapore, fans are hoping Ginting will continue his luck at the Indonesia Open 2023 which will take place this week at Gelora Istora Senayan Jakarta.
