This is of course an achievement the school is proud of, located in Bayunggede Village, Kintamani. The director of SMAN 1 Kintamani, Ketut Ada said on Thursday (11/5), that the student who won the scholarship was Andi Setiawan. The student from Kintamani Village had the opportunity to pursue his higher education at the University of British Columbia in Canada.
Ada said that in order to be eligible for the Indonesia Maju scholarship, students went through a series of selection stages. In the province of Bali itself, this year it was said that about four students had passed the scholarship.
One of them is Andi Setiawan. “This is the first time that one of our students has received a scholarship abroad. And this scholarship is also a new program,” he said.
Ada revealed that Andi Setiawan, who is in science class, has good academic ability. He also has good English skills. “He is indeed smart, the overall champion and his English is good,” he said.
As a school principal, Ada is of course very proud of her student’s achievements. He hopes that in the future, more and more of his students will be motivated to win the scholarship. “Our hope is of course that the government with its various programs will continue to provide scholarships to students, especially those who have a desire to advance and continue their studies abroad,” he said.
