Strengthening bilateral relations, Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs visits Indonesia

JAKARTA – Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird visited Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa on Tuesday (05/08/2014). This visit was made to discuss the development of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Canada.

“Today we receive the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada as part of the Bilateral Communication Forum (BCF). “Since our first meeting, we feel that we have a solid relationship, particularly in the context of strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and Canada,” Marty said during a joint press conference with the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Marty said that during the meeting with Baird, they discussed the current relationship between Indonesia and Canada. They also discussed the problems that have arisen, both regionally and internationally.

Baird himself said that Indonesia is one of Canada’s main partners, politically, economically and socio-culturally. Indonesia and Canada also often share views on finding solutions to problems arising in the regional and international arenas.

“Indonesia is one of Canada’s key partners, not only on bilateral issues, but also in overcoming problems that arise both regionally and internationally,” Baird said.

According to Marty, relations between Indonesia and Kanda have never had any problems until now. “Indonesia and Canada have no problem, on the contrary, we have seen that in recent years, political and security relations, economic relations and socio-cultural relations have shown very encouraging signs of improvement,” he said. he declared.
