Adnan/Nita played comfortably defeating Canadian representatives Adam Dong/Josephine Wu by winning two straight matches 22-20, 21-15.
In the second match, Anthony Ginting faced strong resistance from Canadian men's singles, Brian Yang.
However, superior quality allowed Ginting to easily win against Brian with two consecutive games 21-17, 21-16.

This was Ginting's first victory against Brian at a Badminton World Federation (BWF) meeting. Score 2-0 for Indonesia.
Gregoria Tunjung ensured Indonesia's victory. She defeated Canadian women's singles, Talia Ng, with a score of 21-14, 21-13.
Indonesia scored a 5-0 victory after Marcus Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya won 21-16 and 21-18 against Kevin Lee/Ty Alexander Lindeman, then Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto beat Catherine Choi/Michelle Li with a score of 21-11 and 21-8.
After battling Canada, Indonesia will test the strength of Germany on Tuesday (16/5) morning.
