Illinois, MINA – Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the bombing of a hospital in Gaza was illegal and called the situation “completely unacceptable.”
Trudeau was responding to a report from Gaza’s Health Ministry that an Israeli airstrike hit a hospital in Gaza City, killing hundreds of Palestinians, including people who were using the hospital for shelter. Moose Jaw QToday reported, Tuesday (10/17).
An Israeli military spokesperson said it was still gathering details of the incident and said it did not know whether the airstrike came from Israel.
Trudeau has repeatedly said that war has international rules that must be obeyed.
He then said Canada was also working with its allies to build a humanitarian corridor so supplies could be delivered to Gaza.
The Canadian government reports that two of its citizens on Israeli territory are still missing. Canada is still trying to deport its citizens.
Global Affairs Canada said nearly 300 Canadians living in the West Bank and nearly 380 people living in Gaza are “seeking help.”
Meanwhile, two other flights organized by the Canadian military will leave Tel Aviv on Tuesday to transport its citizens. (T/RS2/P1)
