Bisnis.com, CIREBON – City Government Cirebon to introduce the rich culture and history of the palace to foreign tourists (tourists). This effort was made to attract more foreign tourists to the city of Wali.

Cirebon City Culture and Tourism Department (Disbudpar) Head Agus Sukmanjaya said that on Wednesday (8/7/2024), his group received a visit from 72 foreign tourists from Canada and the United States. Dozens of foreign tourists wanted to learn more about Kacirebonan Palace.

“They come to see and experience the unique culture and history of our city,” Agus said in Cirebon City, Wednesday (7/8/2024).

Agus said that dozens of foreign tourists came to Indonesia on luxury cruise ships, with the final destination being Bali. They were also enthusiastic about participating in the whole series of visits to Kacirebonan Palace. In addition, these foreign tourists also had the opportunity to taste a typical dish of Cirebon, namely empal gentong.

He also hopes that they can share their experiences through social media to expand the reach of Cirebon’s tourism promotion abroad.

“With the ease of today’s technology, we hope tourists will share their experiences during their stopover at Kacirebonan Palace with their networks,” he said.

This year, Cirebon City Disbudpar has implemented works at the destination or has an office in a tourist destination.

The two tourist destinations chosen by Cirebon City Disbudpar to become offices are Kacirebonan Palace and Panjunan Arab Village.

This policy aims to make it easier for the party to absorb the aspirations of tourists, managers and the local community.

“While based at Kacirebonan Palace, our employees will visit the community and interact with tourists. The contribution provided is very significant for the development of the tourism sector in the city of Cirebon,” said Agus.

Agus said that later the destination policy work would be implemented in other destinations, namely Kasepuhan Palace, Kanoman Palace and Kaprabonan Palace.

He also hopes that this program will present ideas that are right and can be appreciated by tourists. In the future, Cirebon city’s tourist destinations will become famous worldwide.

“We want to increase tourist visits and tourist destinations in Cirebon city to be able to compete with other regions in West Java and even Indonesia,” Agus said.
