At the 1986 World Cup, Canada became the target of France, Hungary and the Soviet Union. Los Rouges were beaten 0-1 by France, then lost 0-2 to Hungary and the Soviet Union.

36 years later, Canada returns to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. However, in the first match, Los Rouges lost 0-1 to Belgium.

However, Canada’s chance of qualifying for the round of 16 is not closed. John Herdman’s fleet is ready to give it their all against Croatia and Morocco.

Herdman’s achievements have been recorded as leading the New Zealand U-20 women’s national team to the 2006 and 2010 World Cups. The British coach also led the New Zealand senior women’s national team to qualification for the 2007, 2011 and 2008 Women’s World Cups, as well as the 2008 Olympics.

Moving to Canada, Herdman continued her accomplishments in making Canada’s National Women’s Team the best at the 2011 Pan Am Games.
