The National Police is ready to secure the U-17 World Cup which coincides with the elections

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo speaks about the activities U-17 World Cup in Indonesia, which coincides with the 2024 general election series. Sigit ensures that the security of the U-17 World Cup activities and election stages will be optimally ensured.

Sigit said that when the World Cup took place, the new election series entered the closed-door campaign stage.

“Perhaps related to the intersection with election activities, perhaps we saw that for the November election series schedule, perhaps we will include activities campaign but it is still a closed campaign,” Sigit told reporters at the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Tuesday (19/9/2023).

Sigit ensures that the National Police can distribute security tasks between World Cup activities and the 2024 election series. Sigit considers this important so that public trust in sports event organizers in Indonesia is at a high level satisfying.

“Of course, we can do our best to supervise the security process of the U-17s, while continuing to monitor and keep the electoral stages running at that time,” he said.

“I think we have calculated this and we are ready to secure both activities,” he continued.

For information, the U-17 World Cup will take place in Indonesia from November 10 to December 2, 2023. The international event will take place in four stadiums in Indonesia.

The four stadiums that will be used are Jakarta International Stadium (Jakarta), Si Jalak Harupat Stadium (Bandung), Manahan Stadium (Solo) and Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (Surabaya).

Meanwhile, the 24 countries that will participate in the FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023 are Indonesia, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Uzbekistan representing Asia (AFC) , Burkina Faso, Mali, Morocco, Senegal (Africa/CAF), Canada. , Mexico, Panama United States (North, Central America and Caribbean/CONCACAF), Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Venezuela (South America/CONMEBOL), New Caledonia, New Zealand (Oceania/OFC), England, France , Germany, Poland, Spain (Europe/UEFA).
