Cassius, the world’s largest captive crocodile, who lives at Marineland Crocodile Park on Green Island in Queensland, Australia, celebrates his 120th birthday this week, ABC News reported. The nearly 18-foot-long saltwater giant has lived in the park since 1987 and holds the title of the world’s largest crocodile according to Guinness World Records.
Celebrating a milestone, Cassius treats himself to the ultimate birthday treat: chicken and tuna, which is his favorite.

He added that Cassius would have been between 30 and 80 when he was arrested in 1984 at the Finniss River in Australia’s Northern Territory.
“It’s most likely over a century old – maybe 120 years old,” he said.
Toody Scott, whose grandfather brought Cassius to Green Island in 1987, also said the crocodile was estimated to be around 120 years old by researchers.
Even now, at around 120, Cassius “still has a lot of fire in him,” Scott says.
Despite his age, Cassius showed extraordinary vitality, proving to be one of the liveliest and most interesting reptiles in the park.
“Generally, big old reptiles tend to be quite docile and disinterested. Cassius is always ready to interact. He is one of our most lively and interesting crocodiles. Every time he sees you, he wants come say hello and his eyes light up,” Scott added.
Cassius has also hosted high-profile visitors, including the late Queen Elizabeth II, Chinese President Xi Jinping, the King of Thailand and former Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
