This Canadian student was suspended for not supporting transgender people

Hidayatullah.com—A Catholic high school student in Canada has been suspended and arrested for standing up for the truth by advocating gender binarism, according to media reports. Binerism is the recognition that there are only two genders, namely men and women, including in terms of gender, roles and culture.

Josh Alexander, 16, was suspended this week from St. Joseph in Renfrew, Ont., for protesting bathroom use by transgender people. “I believe God only created two genders,” Alexander said. The old times.

The teenager wrote on Twitter that Ontario police arrested and charged him after he showed up to class for breaking the rules. Alexander’s attorney, James Kitchen, claimed the school’s actions constituted religious discrimination and took the case to the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal.

He said the school accused his client of “bullying” transgender students.

“Obviously he wasn’t really intimidating them, because that term would be defined by any reasonable person,” he said.

“He doesn’t call them ‘headlines’ or make fun of them. But he’s just expressing his point of view,” he said.

The student is said to have skipped school since his first suspension in November. Alexander’s suspension was lifted in January, but resumed soon after by the Renfrew County Catholic School District Board.*
