BANGKOK, KOMPAS.com – Indonesian men’s team managed to sweep the first match Thomas Cup 2018 against Canada, Sunday (5/20/2018).
Out of the five matches played, the Thomas Indonesia team not only won them all, but never lost a single match.
Indonesia’s victory over Canada was confirmed by Ihsan Maulana Mustofa in the second singles. Thanks to Ihsan’s victory over Antonio Li, Indonesia won 3-0.
“Alhamdulillah, in that first match I had smooth sailing. “I didn’t have any particular difficulties earlier,” Ihsan was quoted as saying by badmintonindonesia.org.

Even though leading 3-0, Indonesia still performed well in the remaining two numbers. Fajar Alfian/Rian Ardianto scored points on their Thomas Cup debut.
In the final match, Firman Abdul Kholik also managed to achieve victory in straight games.
With this victory, Indonesia temporarily leads the standings of Group B and Canada occupies the last position.
The other Group B match, between South Korea and hosts Thailand, will not be played until 19:00 WIB.
Indonesia had a day off before the second match. They will be challenged by Thailand on Tuesday (22/5/2018) at 19:00 WIB.
