Jakarta

Studying on a foreign campus is a dream for many young graduates. One of the inspiring stories came from a student of MAN 1 Yogyakarta named Fadhil Mufti Putra Fatria who was accepted into five overseas campuses.

Initially, Fadhil applied to nine universities overseas after finally being declared accepted to five universities. The five universities are in Australia and Canada.

“I applied for 9 overseas universities. In fact, the choice was 8 then 1 regardless, only because the Australian side allowed an additional university to be added, then I requested to add a university in Monash University. So there are 9 universities in total,” Fadhil said as quoted by detikjateng on Friday (03/10/2023).

The five campuses that have received Fadhil include University of Sydney (Australia), Monash University (Australia), Western University (Australia), University of British Columbia (Canada), and University of Toronto (Canada).

Fadhil was accepted to five different campuses with different majors, but always in one field of education, namely geography.

“Most of them lead to geography and earth sciences,” Fadhil explained.

Spent 5 overseas campuses on scholarships

Fadhil said he was able to gain acceptance to all five overseas campuses through the Indonesia Maju scholarship. Thanks to his achievements in the Geography Olympiad, Fadhil used it to apply for the Indonesia Maju scholarship.

“Well, I won the Geography Olympiad myself, so the Geography Olympiad achievement portfolio was used to apply for the Indonesia Maju scholarship,” Fadhil explained.

Through the Indonesia Maju scholarship program, Fadhil is equipped with preparations such as tests to receive help from counselors so that he can choose the right campus abroad.

“We are given test preparation, to enroll in university, we are given a personal advisor to enroll in university, especially abroad,” Fadhil explained.

Fadhil is enrolling in late November 2022 to early February 2023. He admitted that so far he has not decided which campus he will choose as he is still awaiting announcements from the other four campuses.

“So I’m still waiting for the science or if, for example, other than that option, I’m going to take it at the University of Toronto at the Scarborough campus of environmental and earth sciences,” he said. -he explains.
