Truck accident in Canada that kills 15 people.

Carberry: At least 15 people have died in the Canadian province of Manitoba after a semi-trailer truck hit a bus. Ironically, the bus was mainly carrying elderly people, which also resulted in 10 injuries.

“The crash occurred near the town of Carberry in southwestern Manitoba, 170 kilometers west of Winnipeg,” the police report said. ABCFriday, June 16, 2023.

If the death toll is confirmed, it will be one of the deadliest road accidents in recent Canadian history.

Canadian Broadcasting Corporation released video from the scene showing firefighters spraying water on a burning white vehicle that was in a roadside ditch.

Canadian media also showed stills of a blue truck with the front crushed.

Temporary Winnipeg Free Press said the second vehicle was operated by Handi-Transit, which transports elderly and disabled people. Network TVC also said 15 people died.

mounted police Canada said all available resources had been deployed to the scene, and Manitoba health authorities said a “massive casualty response” was underway.

Manitoba Police will notify reporters at 4:30 p.m. local time.

“My heart is broken to hear the news of the tragic accident near Carberry,” Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson said on Twitter.

In Saskatchewan, 16 people died in April 2018 after a truck hit a bus carrying a junior hockey team on a country road. The truck driver was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2019.
