Unlike Leclerc, Carlos Sainz Jr. happy with Canadian GP results

F1 News: Scuderia Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz Jr was quite happy with his team’s performance at the Canadian F1 GP yesterday. Although he was unable to make the podium, Sainz praised Ferrari’s strategy which he considered quite revealing.

During the race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, it was initially expected that Carlos Sainz Jr. would not be able to say much. People thought Ferrari would be overwhelmed by tire degradation and left behind in top-level competition. Thanks to a rather unique and daring strategy, Ferrari managed to smash everything. Sainz and Leclerc managed to break into the top five simultaneously. This result then made Sainz quite happy. Even if we cannot say that it is very good, it is already better than the expected results.

“This time it was a good race. I was able to push the car all the way and to come back after qualification problems. We had a good run, especially with the medium tyres, we were going really fast. The car feels good and we can keep our foot on the accelerator. I was able to delay the first pit stop and extend the time on the track. We are heading in the right direction and continuing to progress. We have to continue this good work in the next races,” Sainz said in an interview.

The next race will be at the Austrian GP. Sainz hopes Ferrari can do a better job there.
