Jakarta (ANTARA) – Vice President Ma’ruf Amin has named six teams for the 2022 World Cup, namely Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France, England and Spain.

“It’s a bit difficult to predict, at least there’s the top 6. I think you have to see what to see later in Qatar. In Latin America there’s Brazil and Argentina , in Europe, Germany, France, England are doing well now and then Spain too because he was once champion,” the vice-president said in Semarang on Friday.

The 2022 World Cup is scheduled in Qatar from November 20 to December 18, 2022.

“At least these 6 teams, in my opinion, have the potential to become champions but for which of them, the conditions are not yet known, see on the pitch later,” said the vice-president.

The vice president also felt that the football situation in Indonesia was on an improving trend.

“For Indonesia, I think Qatar is inspiring. I see an upward trend for the U-20s which has started well. I think it’s true that in the grand design of our sport, we want ‘there are achievements so that from year to year, from ‘event’ to ‘event’, there is an increase (achievement)”, added the vice-president.

Indonesia will also host the FIFA U-20 World Cup or FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2024.

“With football in Qatar and we will host it later, we hope it will inspire us not only to be good hosts, but also to become hosts who have good achievements,” the vice president added.

Qatar’s 2022 World Cup is set to open on November 20, 2022 with the opening match of Group A, namely hosts Qatar and Ecuador.

The opening ceremony will take place at the Al Bayt stadium with a capacity of 60,000 spectators. The stadium is located 40 kilometers north of Doha.

One of the members of the South Korean “boyband” BTS, Jungkook will appear at the ceremony.

Other names were reportedly involved in the opening ceremony, including Colombian pop star Shakira who sang the official 2010 World Cup anthem, Black Eyed Peas, Robbie Williams and Nora Fatehi.

There are 32 teams competing in the 2022 World Cup, namely Group A consisting of Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal, Netherlands; Group B includes England, Iran, USA, Wales; Group C includes Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland; Group D is made up of France, Australia, Denmark, Tunisia.

Additionally, Group E is Spain, Costa Rica, Germany, Japan; Group F is Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Croatia; Group G includes Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon; and Group H includes Portugal, Ghana, Uruguay and South Korea.
