VNL 2023: Canada easily beats Bulgaria

Volleyball News: In the game on Thursday (06/15), Canada beat Bulgaria 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-15) to secure their second VNL victory this year.

Kiera Van Ryk, who joined Team Canada this week, had a game-high 15 points, followed by Hilary Howe, who had 13. Bulgaria got nine points from Maria Yordanova, who was Bulgaria’s top scorer.

Other matches, Poland passed another difficult test in the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) 2023, they brilliantly won their sixth victory in the tournament, Thursday (15/06), against a very strong Turkish team in Hong Kong.

The leaderboards are still undefeated at VNL 2023, Poland beat other European teams in three sets (25-22, 25-20, 30-28) and reclaimed the top spot in the table, which China had taken over two days ago.

Still without star setter Joanna Wolosz, the side coached by Stefano Lavarini saw another player turn the key and lead the team to a landslide victory over fifth-placed Turkey.

The tournament’s leading scorer so far, Magdalena Stysiak produced 17 points to help her side win. Team captain Agnieszka Korneluk added 13 points, while Martyna Lukasik also hit double figures with 11 points.

“It’s a very important victory for us because it shows that we can beat any team,” said libero Maria Stenzel.
