President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Canada on a visit to rally support for his country as it resisted invasion Russia. He arrived in Canada on Thursday (9/21) evening local time after a visit to the united states of america.
Reported by the news agency AFPOn Friday (9/22/2023), Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau greeted Zelensky as he got off his plane in Ottawa, as seen on Canadian television, coming from Washington. This is his first visit to Canada since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022.
Earlier, in Washington, Zelensky met with President Joe Biden and leaders of the US Congress.
Canada is home to a large Ukrainian community and the Trudeau government is committed to strong and lasting support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian forces.
On Friday (9/22), Zelensky will hold formal talks with Trudeau and deliver a speech to the Canadian Parliament.
He and Trudeau will also travel to Toronto to meet with business leaders and members of the Canadian community. Ukraine.
Previously, Zelensky arrived at the White House on Thursday (9/21/2023) local time. He was wearing his olive green military style shirt. Zelensky was greeted by Biden and an honor guard outside the White House.
