Where to watch USA vs Canada live stream, TV channel and USWNT lineups in SheBelieves Cup 2024 final

The United States and Canada face off for the 66th meeting ever as they compete in the first-ever SheBelieves Cup final in Columbus, Ohio on Tuesday.

While the nine-year-old competition usually boasts a four-team round robin, now revamped to feature a bracket for the first time, it’s fitting that these two top-ranked North American participants advance to the title match.

The two teams played out a thrilling draw in the rain in San Diego last month and will meet again as the 2024 Summer Olympics approach. The United States topped Japan 2-1 on Thursday to reach this stadium, while Canada beat Brazil on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

While this match is technically considered a friendly for FIFA rankings purposes, that will be anything but the case when two rivals meet with a trophy on the line, knowing they need to be at their best heading into the Olympics from Paris.

USA vs. Canada Lineups and Team News

How many minutes Mallory Swanson And Catarina Macario can play in this match is unclear, and there is reason to believe neither will be deployed early on, even if Swanson was electric in the semifinal against Japan.

After playing 80 minutes in this match three days ago, Twila Kilgore decided that Swanson would play a substitute role against Canada while returning to full fitness after injury, while Macario was brought in very slowly by the club and the country. Sophie Smith deserved a start here in his place with an electric game coming off the bench in the semi-final.

Sam Coffey has passed the concussion protocol and is starting, but Naomi Girma injured her thigh in the semi-final and is “day to day”, which leaves her starting on the bench, and her availability to participate is uncertain.

United States starting lineup (4-3-3): Naeher (GK) — Fox, Dahlkemper, Davidson, Dunn — Sonnett, Horan, Coffey — Shaw, Morgan, Smith.

Head coach of Canada Bev Priestman deployed five attackers against Brazil in the semi-final, but reverted to a more traditional formation against a very dangerous American team here in the final. Priestman decides that Cloé Lacasse is a strange player up front, while adding a midfielder Simi Awujo who is chosen Julia Grosso to fill the void.

They are missing a veteran midfielder Quinn who left the team after suffering a concussion while on duty with the Seattle Reign, as did midfielder Olivia Smith who had a slight knee injury and was unable to participate. Long-time veterans Sophie Schmidt And Christine Sinclair retired after last summer’s World Cup and are no longer available for selection.

Canada’s starting lineup (3-4-3): Sheridan (GK) — J. Rose, Gilles, Buchanan — Lawrence, Awujo, Fleming, Beckie — Leon, Huitema, D. Rose.

USA vs Canada Prediction

  • Score Predictions: United States 2-0 Canada

Canada struggled in its semi-final against Brazil, forced to defend for long periods of the match despite deploying a very offensive lineup.

It’s likely that the United States will dominate possession in a similar way as they did in the win over Japan, and while they create a similar number of chances, they should find moments to finish the game. Canada is much more efficient on the goal front, as the United States saw in the meeting a month ago, and it will take advantage of the opportunities given to it, but it will be a slim picking for him in attack.

The return of Mallory Swanson has been a particularly big boost, and her involvement will turn the tide in the hosts’ favour, especially as she scored a brace the last time she took the field against the Canada.
