Leaderboards and high scores World Cup 2022 experienced a change after four matches which took place from Wednesday (23/11) afternoon to Thursday (24/11) early morning WIT.
Japan achieved extraordinary results after unexpectedly beating Germany 2-1 at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha on Wednesday 11/23.
Japan actually went ahead of Germany in this fight. Die Mannschaft opened the scoring with a 33rd-minute penalty kick from Ilkay Gundongan.
But Japan got up in the second round. Goals from substitute Ritsu Doan in the 75th minute and from Takuma Asano (83rd) saw Samurai Blue win 2-1 against Hansi Flick’s side.
The victory at the same time entered the history of Japan for the first time capable of defeating Germany. Samurai Blue even topped the Group E standings before being overtaken by Spain.
Spain, who played after the Germany-Japan match, had an extraordinary performance against Costa Rica. La Furia Roja secured a landslide victory by scoring seven unanswered goals at Al Thumama Stadium.
In the meantime, two Group F matches of the 2022 World Cup have also taken place. Croatia, who are runners-up at the 2018 World Cup, were held to a goalless draw by Morocco and Belgium struggled to beat Canada 1-0.
