645 new students of the Faculty of Economics and Commerce of Unismuh Makassar participate in the 2023 orientation period – Makassar Muhammadiyah University News

UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) Makassar organized a new student orientation activity for the 2023 academic year, as many as 645 new students participated in this activity , Saturday September 16, 2023.

The orientation period activities were held at the 47th Unismuh Makasar Convention Hall.

Also present on this occasion were Dr. H Andi Jamán SE MSi as Dean of FEB Unismuh Makassar, Agusdiwana Suarni SE, MSi, Ak as Vice Dean II, Dr. Hj Muchriana SE, MSI, Ak as Vice Dean II, Abdul Muttalib HE MM as Deputy. Dean III, as well as Dr. Sulaiman Masnan SPdI, MpdI.

Not only faculty leaders, but also all study program heads (Prodi), staff and school heads as well as HMJs of the Faculty of Economics and Commerce, Unismuh Makassar.

In his speech, the Dean of FEB Unismuh Makassar Dr. Andi Jamán SE MSi. About 645 people, if we look at the distribution, those who still dominate are management and accounting, with the hope that if possible there will be more candidates, but in reality, for each faculty there are restrictions of quotas, for these management enthusiasts, the possibility will increase further.

“We have made efforts to generate interest in the management study program, not only the management study program but also the study programs of the Faculty of Economics and Commerce Unismuh Makassar,” said he declared.

Furthermore, FEB Captain Unismuh Makassar said that we in Muhammadiyah Universities have values ​​that we must uphold and which are visible in Al Islam and Muhammadiyah courses and that almost the entire semester is given , if only to produce graduates, other universities could do it. but we want to produce graduates or alumni who have good morals and good character.

“Not only in classes, in extracurricular activities such as the Muhammadiyah Students’ Association, it is also a priority. Students must follow the basic Darul Arqam (DAD) and it is a forum to form their character by becoming alumni,” he said.

Andi Jamán said that in terms of infrastructure, we have prepared enough representative things to accommodate additional activities and that policies at the rectorate level that implement an Islamic campus are visible.

“So, all the efforts we make, both in terms of university establishments and infrastructure and executive training, are aimed at demanding graduates or individuals of character,” he said.

Andi Jaman motivated new students not to stay on campus for too long and we encourage students to complete their studies in less than four years.

“Graduating on time is an indicator of the success of academic implementation in all universities, including those in Unismuh Makassar,” he said.
