American destroyers against Chinese warships strained in the Taiwan Strait

The US Navy (USA) has released a video of dangerous interactions with Chinese warships. The US military said its destroyer USS Chung-Hoon and a Canadian frigate were performing routine transits through the sensitive Taiwan Strait at the time. The tensions have arisen as the two countries blame each other for the lack of agreement on military talks and everything from trade in Taiwan to Russia to Ukraine.

The incident could have increased the fight between the United States and China in the future, which could spiral out of control on Monday (5/6/2023).

The US military said the USS Chung-hoon, a destroyer, and the HSMC Montreal, a Canadian frigate, were transiting the strait.

Then the Chinese ship cut in front of the US ship transiting the strait at a distance of 137m on Saturday (06/03/2023).

Video released by the US Navy shows a Chinese warship sailing through Chung-hoon Pass in calm waters. However, the USS Chung-hoon did not change course on Sunday night (06/04/2023).

A voice with an English accent was heard, apparently sending a radio message to the Chinese vessel.

Voicemail warns of limiting freedom of navigation, although voicemail is unclear due to wind noise at sea.

Beijing has increased military and political pressure to force Taiwan to accept its sovereignty, including maneuvering near the island.
