The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 tournament will take place from August 25 to September 10, 2023. Three countries, namely the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia, have been named hosts of the biggest basketball tournament in the world .
Indonesia will host matches of two groups, namely Group G and Group H, which will take place from August 25 to September 8 at the Indonesia Arena. Group G will feature defending champions Spain along with three other teams, namely Iran, Ivory Coast and Brazil.

Meanwhile, Group H will consist of three strong teams that feature in the top 10 of the world rankings, namely Canada, Latvia and France. Lebanon is another team that completes this group.
The presence of these strong teams in Indonesia will present interesting games involving NBA stars such as Jamal Murray (Canada), Andrew Wiggins (Canada), Ricky Rubio (Spain), Rudy Gobert (France), Ousmane Dieng (France) and Kristaps Porzingis. (Latvia). This is a rare opportunity for Indonesians to see them perform in Indonesia.
To ensure the dissemination of information and broadcast of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, the local committee is working with the MNC Group as the broadcast rights holder. FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 LOC Communications Director Yudha Permana made this known during a collaborative meeting with iNews Programming and Production Director Mr. Choirul Alam , at the iNews Tower on Thursday (7/13/2023).
“We from the LOC FIBA World Cup 2023 are here because MNC Group is the host broadcaster of this championship. We want to make sure that this collaboration goes well and is successful, so that the public can be satisfied with the news and shows that are during the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023,” Yudha said.
Yudha explained that this collaboration also aims to make non-basketball fans feel the exhilaration of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 in Indonesia. Even though the Indonesian national basketball team did not participate in this tournament because they failed to qualify, the organizers tried to bring spectators to the stadium and through TV screens .
“One of the challenges is that even though the stadium is new, the Indonesian national team is not playing. Therefore, to attract spectators, we need a good collaboration with the MNC group so that it is not only basketball fans, but also the general public, including football and badminton fans.”You can watch the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023. Yudha also mentioned that preparations for the Indonesia Arena, the tournament’s main venue, were almost complete. He hopes that all preparations can be completed in time so that the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 can be successfully held.
“The stadium preparations have reached 98%, while the committee preparations have reached 60-70%. Currently, we are already at the stadium office. In a short time, we hope that all preparations can be completed so that the FIBA World Cup 2023 can go well,” he concluded.
