Director General of International Trade Negotiations, Djatmiko Bris Witjaksono, as Indonesia’s chief negotiator, officially opened the fifth round of negotiations on the Indonesia-Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (ACI-CEPA ) in Ottawa, Canada, Monday (5/29).
He did it with Canada’s chief negotiator, Aaron Fowler. In this fifth round, Canada hosted the negotiations. In addition, the negotiations also took place face-to-face from May 29 to June 2, 2023.
“During this fifth round, no less than 17 working groups continued the negotiations, including the discussion of 3 new issues, namely inclusive trade, employment and the environment,” Djatmiko said in a statement. written, Tuesday (6/6/2023).
It is known that the ICA-CEPA negotiations were launched on June 21, 2022. These negotiations are expected to increase Indonesia’s trade in goods, services and investments in the North American region.
