FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Indonesian men's singles Anthony Sinisuka Ginting had to stop in the semi-finals of the Indonesia Masters 2024 event.
Ginting certainly failed to advance to the final round after having to admit the superiority of Canada's representative, Brian Yang, in a three-game match.
Competing at Istora Senayan Jakarta, Saturday (27/1/2024), Anthony Sinisuka Ginting had to lose with a score of 21-13, 17-21, 19-21.
At the start of the first game, Ginting got off to a bad start. It trailed 2-6 after Brian Yang scored three straight points. The difference in points even widened to 5-9.
Ginting then tried to catch up. The score was tied at 10-10, but Ginting then fell behind 10-11 in the first interval of the match.
After the break, the Indonesian representative was able to turn the situation around and even dominate the match. Until finally closing the first game after a 21-13 drive.
Going into the second match, Ginting got off to a good start by winning 4-0 and continued to 7-1. He was finally able to close the second break with a score of 11-9.
After the break, Brian Yang performed better. He managed to tie the score at 13-13 and took the lead 14-13.
There was a score race for the two men's singles. Brian Yang finally won the second game with a score of 21-17.
In the deciding game, the duel became even more interesting. Ginting led 5-2 but fell behind 5-9 as Brian Yang won seven points in a row.
Ginting then took action in response. Ginting won six points in a row and was able to lead 11-9 at the break.
