Liputan6.com, Jakarta – It is about Ruslam Benco, a tourist who tries to do everything to bring his family back to Canada after the war between Israel and Hamas rages. With his wife and two young children, he is currently in Tiberias, in northern Israel.

They came to Israel in late September 2023 to visit Benco’s wife’s family. This family also has friends who are currently in the central region of the country, near the site of the bombing. “I can’t express it in words,” he said.
“Literally, this condition is not safe. I want to go home (to Canada), but this country (Israel) is at war,” he said. Benco said they have been trying desperately to be able to fly overseas, but those efforts have yet to yield results.
Air Canada canceled all flights to Tel Aviv, as well as American Airlines, United and Delta. Currently, they have a flight booked for next week to Italy, but the tourist admits that he fears that flight will also be canceled.
Global Affairs Canada said Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport remained open and some commercial flights were operating and providing assistance. However, flight schedules may be canceled at the last minute.
