1. Meeting With Prime Minister (PM) French justin Trudeau

President Jokowi and Prime Minister Trudeau held another meeting after returning from activities at the Grand Prince Hotel in Hiroshima.

Jokowi and Trudeau agree that cooperation between Indonesia and Canada needs to be strengthened. Given the enormous potential for cooperation in terms of investment and trade that can be realized.

Airlangga explained that Indonesia and Canada are also continuing their efforts to finalize the Indonesia-Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (ICA-CEPA), which completed its fourth round in February 2023.

“President Jokowi also encouraged the realization of the investment of Canadian pension funds, which focuses on the development of the capital of the archipelago. In addition to appreciating the support of Canada and other G7 countries regarding the energy transition in Indonesia,” Airlangga said.

In addition, the Canadian Prime Minister also expressed Canada’s desire to join the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF).

2. Meeting with the President of Brazil

Along with Brazil and India, Indonesia is listed as a member of the troika in the G20 leadership.

During a meeting with the President of Brazil, Lula da Silva, President Jokowi expressed his gratitude for Brazil’s support for the Indonesian G20 Presidency.

Indonesia and Brazil have established cooperation in agriculture and trade. This cooperation is increasingly strategic, in the midst of the global food crisis that will arise in 2022.

Airlangga explained that the meeting of the two heads of state also agreed on the import of beef and beef cattle from Brazil, which would be discussed more technically.

“Apart from this, partnerships in the forestry sector are also encouraged as Indonesia and Brazil are two countries that have quite large tropical forests. This includes encouraging the commitment of developed countries to provide funds for climate change, as well as cooperation plans on tropical forests between Indonesia, Brazil and Congo, Airlangga explained.

On this occasion, President Lula hoped that President Jokowi could pay a visit to Brazil.

3. Meeting With Prime Minister Cook he is

This is the first meeting between President Joko Widodo and Prime Minister Mark Brown, since the two countries had bilateral relations in 2019.

Airlangga said Indonesia’s partnership with the Cook Islands as chair of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) continued Indonesia’s strategic partnership with countries in the Pacific region, which was previously achieved in inviting representatives of the PIF to the Indonesian presidency of the G20.

“At an advanced level, Indonesia is developing a roadmap for development cooperation in the Pacific as a follow-up to the Indonesia-Pacific Development Forum (IPFD),” he said. .

4. Bilateral meeting with IMF boss

Airlangga disclosed that the bilateral meeting with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva highlighted many positive achievements of Indonesia’s economic performance and appreciated Indonesia’s economic growth and inflation control.

In the April 2023 edition of the IMF’s World Economic Outlook, the IMF revised Indonesia’s economic growth for 2023 upward from 4.8% to 5.0% (up from 0, 2pp).

Indonesia’s economic outlook for 2024 would be quite good, around 5.1%.

This is inseparable from Indonesia’s economic policy, which the IMF considers an appropriate measure sensitiveforward-looking and well-coordinated.

“This condition must be maintained and improved, in order to achieve the goal of becoming a high-income country by 2045,” Airlangga said.
