Jakarta (ANTARA) – Cupertino, California, United States-based multinational technology company Apple is known to have adopted a new policy, namely marketing the iPhone 15 with an eSIM model only in the United States.
eSIM technology in Apple products was first introduced on the iPhone XS/XR series and returned to the iPhone 14 model last year.
The adoption of this technology seems to be increasing and ultimately Apple decided that for the iPhone 15 series in the United States, only models using eSIM were available.
In the GSM Arena report on Thursday (14/9), there are two eSIM slots provided by Apple for the iPhone 15 series in the United States.

Overall, Apple is introducing several SIM variant models for the iPhone 15 series.
The US model is the model that supports dual eSIM and is the only model with mmWave.
The global version, sold in North America, Canada, Mexico and Japan, includes a nano-sized physical SIM slot and an eSIM slot.
Then there are models specifically for China, including products sold in Hong Kong and Macau that feature a dual nano SIM slot model and do not support eSIM.
The presence of many model variants in the iPhone 15 series is because eSIM has not been fully adopted in all countries, and some regions have not even used this technology yet.
