Jakarta (ANTARA) – The batik fashion brand characterized by Betawi ethnic motifs, Elemwe, is present at the annual IndoFest 2019 exhibition in Ottawa, Canada, which will be held on Saturday (14/9) local time.
“In addition to having the same vision and mission as the objective of the event, we want to promote the city of Jakarta, arts and culture and the work of artisans so that foreigners are interested in visiting Jakarta and buying the works of artisans such as Betawi batik fabric, craftsmanship Betawi, and others,” said Lily Mariasari, creator and owner of the Elemwe brand, in a press release received by Antara in Jakarta on Friday.
In the exhibition, Elemwe brought five Betawi Batik garments chiffon and cotton with a Cokek Dancer pattern theme in fall-inspired colors.
Lily admits that she always embraces millennial elements in every Betawi batik pattern she creates. “So even though it’s batik, it’s still made simple, up to date, but it also remains elegant,” he said.
