Besides Australia, here is a list of countries that facilitate the granting of permanent residents

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – Permanent resident status is an attractive option for many people who want to live and work in other countries without having to change citizenship.

Even if they don’t have citizenship of that country, permanent resident status holders can legally live and work in that country without having to worry about immigration issues.

Even with permanent resident status, it is easier for a person to access various public services, such as health and education, and provide flexibility to work and do business in the country.

Here is a list of countries that offer the convenience of obtaining permanent resident status and citizenship:

1. Canada

Canada is considered the easiest country to immigrate to and obtain citizenship status. After holding your permanent residence visa for two to three years, you can apply for Canadian citizenship.

2. New Zealand

New Zealand offers a skilled migration program for people under the age of 55. A person who stayed for two years to work or study can also add a spouse or dependent children (under the age of 24) to your visa application.

3.Portugal

The Golden Visa Residence program offered by Portugal makes this country one of the best countries for immigration. This country can grant you a permanent residence permit if you make a high-value investment.

4. Thai

Thailand issues smart visas to highly skilled workers, executives, investors, and start-up entrepreneurs with a four-year residence permit in the country. However, you can obtain the right to live in the country for 20 years with the Elite Residence program which costs USD 65,000 or IDR 951.2 million.

5. Ireland

Foreigners can apply for citizenship through residency status. You may be eligible for an Irish permanent residence permit by holding a work visa for five years. You can also apply for Irish citizenship by descent, i.e. if your ancestors (parents or grandparents) were born in Ireland.

6. Australia

You can become a permanent resident of Australia if you move there to study, hold a work visa, by inheritance, or by investment or business. Other visa programs include Global Talent, Skill Nominated, or Temporary Skill Shortage.
