BPJS Health Pekanbaru paid IDR 1.1 trillion for the JKN program

Bisnis.com, PEKANBARU — BPJS Health The Pekanbaru branch noted that until September 2023, it had paid health service costs for all segments reaching Rp1.1 trillion. This figure is higher than the total contributions received, namely IDR 357 billion.

BPJS Health Pekanbaru Branch Head Harie Wibhawa said that in terms of contributions received and payments for health services, it was noted that they were not balanced.

“Based on the data on contribution income of IDR 357 billion and health service payments reaching IDR 1.1 trillion, this reflects that universal health coverage or program university hospital National Health Insurance (JKN) “Thanks to BPJS Health, it has made it easier for people to access treatment,” he said on Friday (29/9/2023).

Apart from that, through CSU, participants who are in arrears and have not yet registered can benefit from health services thanks to the strong support of the local government. In Pekanbaru, for example, the municipality launched the Pekanbaru Bertuah health insurance program.

Furthermore, to improve health services offered to the community and respond to the Ombudsman’s recommendations, BPJS Health launched information counters at advanced health facilities in Pekanbaru, including Aulia Hospital. The goal of this step is to provide the public with better access to information relating to the JKN program.

According to him, JKN BPJS Health’s main objective is to provide health insurance to the entire community. Currently, the coverage rate of JKN members in Riau Province has reached 93 percent, and various efforts continue to be made to achieve the target of 95 percent coverage in the near future.

“Pekanbaru City, as one of the cities in Riau Province, has achieved a JKN membership coverage of 97 percent. One of the top programs that support this increase in coverage is “Jamkes Pekanbaru Bertuah”, he said.

He added that the BPJS Health information counter at this advanced health facility is expected to provide better service to the community. This is important because some people still do not understand JKN sufficiently, especially regarding the health service procedures they receive.

It should be noted that there are differences between JKN and private health insurance, which are sometimes still confusing for some people. Therefore, it is hoped that measures such as this information desk can enable the public to better understand the benefits and procedures for the services they receive through JKN.

“Currently, there are 49 advanced health facilities in the BPJS Health Pekanbaru branch, and 29 of them already have BPJS Health information counters. We hope that other advanced health facilities will commit to immediately installing information counters for those who do not have these facilities,” he concluded.
