The match between Canada and Spain is the first match for both teams in Group B of the 2023 U-17 World Cup.
Led by Peruvian referee Roberto Pérez, the clash between Spain and Canada took place on Friday evening at the Manahan Stadium in Surakarta from 7:00 p.m. WIB.
“The first match is always important. “This is a crucial time to determine the next steps,” said Andew Olivieri, captain of the Canadian U-17 national team.
The 52-year-old coach stressed that Canada is not at all afraid of Spain. On the contrary, they are very motivated to beat Marc Guiu and his friends.
“I think facing a good team in the first match can make the players more motivated. “Plus, it’s an event like the World Cup and our young players are participating for the first time,” he explained.
