JAKARTA, DISWAY.ID – The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Group Draw was completed in the Philippines on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the evening of WIB.
According to the results of the draw, two strong teams from Europe, Spain and France, will play at the Indonesia Arena, Jakarta.
There are three countries hosting the FIBA Basketball World Cup this time, namely the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia.
The Competition is divided into 8 groups (AH) composed of 4 countries. Group AD matches will be held in the Philippines, Group EF matches in Japan and Group GH matches in Indonesia.

FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Group G consists of Iran, Spain, Ivory Coast and Brazil. Meanwhile, Group H is occupied by Canada, Latvia, Lebanon and France.
Canada has many active NBA players including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, RJ Barrett, Jamal Murray, Andrew Wiggins, Kelly Olynyk, Nick Alexander-Walker, Cory Joseph, Dwight Powell, Oshae Brissett, Dillon Brooks, Khem Birch, Lugentz Dort, Shaedon Sharpe, Bennedict Mathurin, Andrew Nembhard and Caleb Houston.
Apart from Canada, France also has a number of active NBA players such as Evan Fournier, Nicolas Batum, Rudy Gobert, Theo Maledon, Frank Ntilikina and Joel Embiid. The 2023/2024 NBA first draft candidate, Victor Wembanyama, is also from the team nicknamed Les Bleus.

Several NBA players are also likely to defend Spain at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, including Ricky Rubio, Willy Hernangomez, Juancho Hernangomez, Usman Garuba and Santi Aldama.
Held at Indonesia Arena
The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 will be held from August 25 to September 10, 2023. Indonesia will host the prestigious world basketball tournament at the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta.
“We will host team matches with world-class stars,” FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Organizing Committee (LOC) President Budisatrio Djiwandono said.
“This is an opportunity for us to show that Indonesia is ready to host big matches later,” he continued.
