SG questioned his status as extraditable by Bali Regional Police, but at immigration he was a deported person.
According to Satake, extradition and deportation fall under the same administrative system, which allows SG to leave Ngurah Rai Airport to travel to Australia.
“The person concerned (the refusal) is linked to the activities of Immigration, because here he is extradited, why is he deported, even if it is only a system, but then we suggested that he had led From data collection activities at Immigration to the airport, we release detainees using the extradition system,” he said.
Satake said SG was deported to Australia because Indonesia did not have an extradition agreement with Canada for Interpol fugitives.
