Canadian coach praises Spanish team

Bisnis.comSOLO – Canada’s U-17 national team coach Andrew Olivieri talks about preparations to face Spain in the first match of the 2023 U-17 World Cup.

The Canadian U-17 national team will face Spain in the first match of Group B of the 2023 U-17 World Cup at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Friday (11/10/2023).

Before the match, Canada U-17 national team coach Andrew Olivieri said Spain was a strong team. Andrew admitted that the Spanish team was full of world elite players. One of them is Marc Guiu, the Barcelona prodigy who is currently on the rise.

However, Andrew is not pessimistic. He said Canada was ready to face Spain in the first match.

“Spain is a strong team, we have to work hard to beat them,” said Andrew Olivieri after training at Sriwaru Field, Solo, Thursday (09/11/2023).

Andrew added that Canada had prepared a special strategy to fight Spain. However, he was reluctant to reveal what strategy he would adopt.

When asked which Spanish player he was most wary of, Andrew didn’t mention any names.

“I can’t name a single name. They have world-class players. Their strength lies in team play,” Andrew said.

After playing Spain, Canada will face Mali and Uzbekistan to compete for 2 tickets to the round of 16 of the 2023 U-17 World Cup.
