UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR – Celebrating the 78th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, the Student Affairs Institutions of the Faculty of Engineering of Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) Makassar organized a series of traditional games competitions. This activity took place on Thursday August 17, 2023 within the Unismuh campus, adjacent to the Civil Engineering Laboratory.
All students of the Faculty of Engineering from different departments took part in the celebration.
Chairman of the Student Executive Council (BEM) FT Unismuh Makassar Alfitra Haskar said four types of competitions were held, including tug of war, marble race, sack race and cracker eating competition.
“August 17 is not only a commemoration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, but also a reflection of appreciation for the struggle of our heroes,” said Alfitra.
He added that as a young generation, we have a great responsibility in maintaining the integrity and unity of the nation. The traditional competition organized constitutes an annual routine program of the institution.
“We are committed to maintaining local wisdom despite the dynamics of our times,” he concluded.
