Jakarta: Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpora RI) Dito attended the opening of the 2023 FIBA ​​World Cup and also watched the match between France and Canada at the ‘Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, Friday (25/8) evening.

Menpora Dito, who arrived around 19:00 WIB, immediately entered the royal box to attend the opening ceremony. The event starts at 7:20 p.m. WIB. A colossal traditional dance was ushered in, performed by dozens of dancers in traditional clothing from various regions ranging from Betawi, Sundanese, Minangkabau, Madura, Javanese, Dayak and Papua.

Don’t forget that six Betawi ondel-ondel also led the dance. During the dance performance, regional songs such as Gundul-gundul Pacul, Jali-jali and Sinanggar Tulo accompany the performance.

After the dance performance, presenter Nirina Zubir invited the audience to listen to Jokowi’s speech which also opened the 2023 Basketball World Cup.

“Today, Indonesia is co-hosting a prestigious global event, namely the 2023 FIBA ​​World Cup at Indonesia Arena,” Jokowi said in the video.

“32 countries are participating in this World Cup and eight countries are competing in Jakarta. Of course, it is a good opportunity for the Indonesian basketball community to closely observe the action of world-class matches. This will help the country’s basketball team of the future,” Jokowi said.

“Saying bismillah, I officially open the 2023 FIBA ​​World Cup today,” President Jokowi said via virtual.

The reopening ceremony was embellished with colossal modern dances. Moments later, it was the turn of Indonesian pop singer Agnez Mo to successfully captivate the audience’s attention with her performance.

Also seen were the ministers present at the opening, namely Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno, and Minister of State Enterprises Erick Thohir which is also a central council. member of FIBA.
