The good news is that Youtube has lowered the eligibility criteria for content creators to earn money on their platform through the Youtube Partner Program (YPP).

Youtube announced the lowering of eligibility criteria for the Youtube Partner Program and the opening of several monetization methods for content creators. Under the new policy, the YouTube Partner Program is now open to creators who have just reached 500 the subscribers. This means half the amount YouTube needed before.

Other benchmarks have also changed. Creators looking to monetize their content are only required to have 3,000 hours of valid watch time, not 4,000 hours, or 3 million views of shorts from 10 million previously.

For Youtubers who are in Indonesia, you have to be patient first. These reduced requirements will be rolled out in early stages in the United States (US), United Kingdom, Canada, Taiwan, and South Korea. In the near future, Youtube will extend this program to other countries, of course also to Indonesia.

How to register
To create a personal YouTube channel, the method is quite simple. Go to the YouTube page, click the “Profile” icon, then select “Create Channel”. You will be asked to create a channel and then complete the data. Check the details according to your Google account name and photo, then confirm to create a channel.
