JAKARTA, BALIPOST.com – The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) has disbursed IDR 135 billion in funds to PP Perbasi and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the FIBA ​​World Cup or Cup basketball world, one of the sites in Indonesia. The funding for the implementation of the FIBA ​​Basketball World Cup was defined during the signing of the collaboration between Perbasi and Kemenpora.

The signing was done by the President of PP Perbasi and the Principal Deputy Athletes’ Commitment Officer (PPK) for Athletic Performance Enhancement. Present to witness the deal was Menpora Bimo Ariotedjo at the Kemenpora Building Jakarta, as quoted by Antara news agency, Wednesday (5/24).

The Menpora asked Perbasi as manager and the LOC FIBA ​​World Cup 2023 Indonesia to use the mandated funds transparently and responsibly as they used funds from the state budget. “The key to success is to carry out all administration and financial accountability of the state in a transparent and accountable manner, because this is the state budget, not our great-grandfather’s money. mother,” Dito said.

The Menpora said the APBN funding was one of the other funds, namely the private sector sponsorship for the FIBA ​​Basketball World Cup 2023 in Indonesia.

Minister Dito said the IDR 135 billion funding went through submissions from LOC and Perbasi which were then assessed and selected by Kemenpora to be approved for funding.

Even though the Indonesian basketball team did not participate in the basketball world championship, Menpora hopes that Indonesia can show the world as a country worthy of hosting a global sports competition. “Even if the Indonesian team cannot compete this time, at least we can show the world that Indonesia is a country that loves sports and is indeed capable of hosting a world-class event,” Dito said. .

The FIBA ​​Basketball World Cup 2023 is taking place in three Asian countries, namely the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia. The 2023 Basketball World Cup will be held at Indonesia Arena Senayan Jakarta from August 25 to September 3, 2023. Teams from Groups G and H will compete at Indonesia Arena during this time.
