This was stated in a report by the Senate Committee on Human Rights in Canada, with initial findings indicating that violent incidents against Muslims have increased in the country, compared to other religious groups.

Meanwhile, the number of people targeting Muslims has increased by 71% over the same period, with some 144 incidents recorded, including hate messages written in Toronto mosques, smashed windows, Islamophobic slurs and women Muslim women held at gunpoint.
So far, Canada has around 1,775,000 Muslims living in the country, with Muslim women being the most vulnerable group to this hatred.
“Some of these women are afraid to leave their homes and it becomes difficult for them to send their children to school. Many also spit on it, so they must always be vigilant,” Ataullahjan added.
While responding to the report, the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) welcomed the step taken by the Senate, which shed light on the plight of Muslims in the country.
