Poland announced that he would send more Leopard 2 main battle tank For Ukraine on the occasion of a birthday Russian invasion Friday (24/2). Warsaw said the additional tanks would be delivered to Kyiv “in the next few days”.
As reported AFPSaturday (25/2/2023) the announcement was made by the Prime Minister (PM) Mateusz Morawiecki in a statement to reporters on Friday (24/2) local time after Warsaw announced the delivery of four Leopard 2 tanks to Kyiv.
“We were able to transfer our tanks very soon…and in a few days we will deliver excellent PT-91 tanks — 60 tanks will come to Ukraine,” Morawiecki told reporters.
This statement was made by Morawiecki after talks with the President Volodymyr Zelensky in kyiv on the anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
“I have come here today not only to offer words of support, but also knowing that we must respond to this barbaric aggression with force,” he said.
Polish Defense Minister (Menhan) Mariusz Blaszczak announced earlier that Leopard tanks from Poland have been delivered to Ukraine. “Today Polish Leopard tanks are in Ukraine,” he said on Friday (23/2) local time.
Morawiecki specifically said that Poland sent four German-made Leopard 2 tanks to kyiv.
