Chef Arnold’s success story started when he was young, at the age of 3 or 4 to be precise, when he helped his mother sell cakes around Surabaya.

He also said that his father himself started a catering business in Surabaya.

“Mom is from Rote, NTT, but grew up in Kupang. Meanwhile, dad is from Surabaya. Together with mum, they both opened a steakhouse restaurant in Surabaya,” he said, as quoted on YouTube by Hermanto Tanoko.

Unfortunately, the restaurant built by his parents went bankrupt several times, due to bad partners and the financial crisis of 1998.

Until finally, her parents began asking for permission by seeking help from her family in Australia. This is what prompted Arnold to move to Sydney with his family, he spent his school years there.

Chef Arnold admits he never went to cooking school because he has no money. In fact, he started his career in the culinary world at the age of 14, due to the economic constraints of his family.

“Dad and mom don’t give you money because you don’t have any money, so when I was passing on the road near the school, I saw that there was a restaurant. Yes apply and work as a kitchen helper,” Arnold added.

He admits that even though his job at the time was only to clean the kitchen and wash the dishes, he still did his job diligently and managed to spark his interest in working in the culinary field.

From his three years of professional experience, Arnold managed to learn several cooking techniques. He also admitted that he learned his talent on his own and not through special education.

After spending his childhood in Sydney, Australia, Arnold decided to return to Indonesia to work in a restaurant in the Kuningan area, south of Jakarta.

His name has skyrocketed since he was invited as a guest on the second season of Master Chef in the episode ProChef Challenge. Her figure immediately caught the public’s attention.
