Not recovering from stiffness syndrome, Celine Dion cancels the rest of the European tour

The announcement comes four months after the 55-year-old Quebec singer was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called stiff person syndrome which causes muscle spasms.

By then, distraction had forced her to postpone some of her European shows on the Courage World Tour.

“So sorry to let you all down once again,” the Titanic movie theme singer My Heart Will Go On wrote on Instagram.

“I have worked very hard to rebuild my strength. However, this tour will be difficult even if I try my best,” he continued, saying ticket holders will receive a refund.

Stiff-person syndrome causes muscle stiffness and increased sensitivity to sound, touch, and emotional stimuli, which can trigger seizures. These conditions forced the Grammy winner to postpone his Las Vegas residency to October 2021.

Previously, Celine Dion’s series of European tours were scheduled to take place for up to 42 shows in seven cities from August to early October. Also taking place in 17 other cities in spring 2024, cited by The National.

The tour – his first US tour in 10 years – kicked off in Quebec City in September 2019. Accompanied by the release of his latest album, Courage.

The mother-of-three said the title of the album was inspired by the death of her husband and manager René Angelil, who died of throat cancer in 2016.
