As known, the culmination of the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta is set for September 5-7, 2023.

The ASEAN Summit to be held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, will bring together 22 countries from 11 countries. Asia, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia and Timor Leste.

Then nine countries were invited, including the Republic of Korea, India, Japan, China, New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Russia and the United States.

In addition, Bangladesh was also present as the President of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) and the Cook Islands as the President of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF).

Indonesia, as chair of ASEAN 2023, will also invite international organizations including the United Nations (UN), World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Economic Forum, IORA and the BIP.

The program for today’s ASEAN Summit, Monday (9/04/2023), focuses on the meeting of ASEAN Foreign Ministers during the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM) which was held at the ASEAN Secretariat office in Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta.

In addition, the Asian Political and Security Community (APSC) meeting will also take place. This agenda is a meeting of the leaders of the political and security pillars. Indonesia was represented by Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD and Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.

Today’s agenda is followed by the meeting of the Asean Coordination Council (ACC), on September 4, 2023. This is also a meeting of foreign ministers.

“The 4th in the morning at noon, after lunch a series of ministerial meetings took place. In the afternoon the plan Mr President [Joko Widodo] is about to start a bilateral meeting with para leaders who had arrived at that time, until the evening,” said Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, quoted on Sunday (3/9/2023).
