Elshinta.com – Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll said he had to undergo post-surgery rehabilitation and recovery from broken bones due to an accident some time ago which caused him to miss the pre-practice session -season, and recovered at the Bahrain GP by finishing sixth.

“My medical team has designed a program that will help restore mobility and strength to my wrist. Rehabilitation takes hard work and perseverance – and with an incredible medical team, supportive friends and family – I can get over the pain and get back to the normal track in Bahrain with my team and my fellow drivers,” Stroll said as quoted on the official F1 website on Wednesday.

When Stroll missed pre-season testing in late February, he was replaced by reserve driver Felipe Drugovich.

On his return to the main race in Bahrain, he said he was able to lead the race to the finish, and eventually finished just ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell. Looking back, Stroll said the accident while riding his bike was enough to bring him down. In addition, the results of the analysis (scans) showed that he had broken bones and displacement of the bones in several places.

“Results scans when it showed that I had a fracture and displacement in my right wrist, a fracture in my left wrist, a partial fracture in my left hand and another fracture in my right big toe,” said the Canadian runner.

With little time before the Bahrain Grand Prix, the medical team doubted that Stroll could recover before the start of the main race.

“Although I was able to drive to Bahrain, unfortunately the doctor explained to me that the fractures to my left hand/wrist and foot were not amenable to fixation, and that I would have to rely on a more conservative approach to care. my other injuries,” he said.

“My medical team makes sure we do anything and everything that shows signs of bone healing. It becomes work full time me, trying to combine all the possibilities that can help, even if it’s only 0.5%,” he added.
