Badminton News: The first bell for the Race to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games rang on May 1, 2023, with the 2023 BWF TotalEnergies Sudirman Cup in Suzhou being the first major event that will attract the world’s top talent.

The 2024 French Open will now be played in week 10 from March 5-10, 2024 at Porte de la Chapelle Arena in Paris and will be a major venue and facility testing event as part of the wider testing program of Paris 2024.
Construction delays meant the Porte de la Chapelle Arena would not be ready in time for tryouts for this year’s French Open, which is normally held in October.
The BWF, in consultation with the French Badminton Federation (FFBad) and the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee, has agreed to move the 2024 French Open to its new slot by March 2024, in order to ensure a vital integration for players and organizers on the Paris 2024 competition site. Additionally, the 2024 Orleans Masters has been moved one week from March 12-17.
The English Open 2024 (HSBC BWF World Tour Super 1000) and Orleans Masters 2024 (HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300) will both take place in week 11, the Ruichang China Masters 2024 (BWF Tour Super 100 ) moving to week 12. .
Ranking points from the 2023 YONEX French Open, the 2024 French Open and the 2024 Orleans Masters will all count towards the Race to Paris ranking, which ends on April 28, 2024.
