WASHINGTON, BALIPOST.com — Russia’s continued attacks on Ukraine have been criticized by Group of Seven (G7) foreign ministers. Furthermore, they promised that the G7 would take further steps to undermine Russia’s ability to finance wars.
“We will impose even tougher economic sanctions against Russia, as well as individuals and entities inside and outside Russia who provide political or economic support for these violations of international law,” it said Wednesday. the G7 in a statement, quoted by the Antara news agency. (22/2).
The G7 statement was released three days before the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The G7 ministers called on all members of the international community to reject Russia’s actions and attempts to seize territory by force. “We relentlessly support Ukraine’s right to defend itself against Russian aggression and Ukraine’s undisputed right to retake its territory from Russia,” they said.
The G7 ministers also said that Russia’s irresponsible nuclear rhetoric would not hinder or prevent them from helping Ukraine.
Leaders of the G7 countries, which include Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States, as well as the European Union, are due to hold a high-level meeting online on the first anniversary of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
