The Junior World Championships will once again be held in the United States

Badminton News: In Spokane, USA, a stage will take place to crown the world’s best junior badminton player at the BWF World Junior Championships 2023, which begins next week.

The event is divided into two parts: the BWF Junior World Team Championships from September 25-30, followed by the individual event, the BWF Junior World Championships, which takes place from October 2-8.

This was the 23rd edition of the championship, with Spokane, Washington hosting the competition in the western United States.

The mixed team event, also known as the Suhandinata Cup, debuted in 2000.

Historically, Asian countries have dominated this event, with South Korea becoming defending champions in the previous edition, ending a wait for the title dating back to 2013.

Chinese Taipei, showing its best performance to date, managed to place second, while Indonesia and Japan secured the third and fourth places.

Group A promises tough competition as it includes China, with a history of a staggering 13 titles in 18 editions of the team event. Also in this strong group are Korea, current title holders, as well as the Netherlands and Norway, which makes it a difficult mix for the European teams in this group.

Group B pits Japan, 2022 bronze medalist and winner of the 2023 Asian Junior Championships, against, among others, Lithuania and Canada, finalists of the last two editions of the American Team Championships.

Group C is packed with European talent, including England, Latvia, Austria and Poland, as well as Malaysia. France, runners-up at the 2022 European Junior Team Championships, will face Spain in Group E, with Belgium also including 2019 Suhandinata Cup champions Indonesia.

European champions Denmark are in Group G and face last year’s world runners-up, China Taipei, as well as Oceania runners-up New Zealand.
