Solo: The Mali U-17 national team group immediately hit the gas for their final training session before participating in the 2023 U-17 World Cup. They have just landed at the Adi Soemarmo International Airport in Boyolali, Monday (6/11/2023) afternoon. WIB.

However, instead of resting upon arriving at the hotel, they immediately continued their training. The Mali group arrived at Sriwaru Field, Solo, around 5:30 p.m. WIB. They also held a training session lasting about an hour.

The Malian U-17 team has very high goals for the U-17 World Cup. Grouped in group B, they are ready to crush all opponents to win the title in this tournament. The Mali U-17 national team has completed quite a long preparation before the 2023 U-17 World Cup. After organizing the first stage of their own country’s training camp, they continued their preparation in Saudi Arabia.


The media manager of the Mali U-17 national team, Ibrahima Ze Koulibaly, explained that these different preparations will certainly allow the players to better prepare to achieve their ambitious goals in this tournament.

“We have made the best preparations. Before leaving, we carried out the first stage of preparations in the city of Bamako, Mali. “After that, we will hold the second stage of preparations in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia,” said Ibrahima, Monday, November 6, 2023.

Ibrahima said this is proof that Mali is serious about competing on the big Indonesian stage.

“As you know, after arriving at the airport, we went to the hotel to drop off our luggage. “After that, we immediately started training to achieve the best results,” he said .

“We currently have a serious goal in the 2023 U-17 World Cup. Mali came here to become champions and bring the trophy back to Mali as our goal,” he said.

Ibrahima said Soumalia Coulibaly’s team was not at all afraid to meet their Group B opponents, namely Spain, Uzbekistan and Canada.

“We are focused on winning game after game. We have set ourselves high goals in this event, it would be an honor to come back with a trophy. “You will see on the ground the results of our hard preparation work,” Ibrahima said.

Mali entered the U-17 World Cup after finishing fourth in the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations. This event will be the sixth edition that Mali will participate in throughout history. Mali’s best achievement was its second place in 2015.

For Mali, they have no problem adapting to Solo’s weather which is similar to that of their country.

“The air here is very similar to that of our country. No major problems. “The principle is that you have to be ready to face all terrains,” Ibrahima said.

He praised the quality of the training ground prepared by the tournament organizing committee (panpel). Including friendly and skillful service to the team crew upon arrival in Solo.

“We were well served. Once arrived at the hotel and then headed to the training location, the time was very fast according to the schedule. It’s a nice city, the people seem friendly towards the visiting team.”

The first challenge that the Mali U-17 national team will face in Group B will be that of Uzbekistan. According to the schedule, this match will take place at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Friday (10/11/2023) at 4:00 p.m. WIB.

Then, in the final match, they will face the strong Spanish team (November 13, 2023) at Manahan Stadium and Canada (November 16, 2023) at Jakarta International Stadium.
