This MTsN teacher wins a medal at the karate championship in Canada


JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Dessy Ariasanti, a MTsN teacher in Pemalang, Central Java, made Indonesia proud at the Gojukai Karate World Championship in Vancouver, Canada, held from September 28 to October 1, 2017 .

The teacher of physical education and health subjects (Penjaskes) managed to win four medals, including two silvers in Junior Team Kata and Bunkai Kata, as well as two bronze medals in 55 kg Kumite and Individual Kata.

Faced with the championship, Dessy prepared himself well physically and mentally. He was specially trained by Sensei Budi from Makassar, South Sulawesi.

“The physical training I do includes power and speed training, which I train in the morning. I train technical training in the afternoon,” Dessy said, as quoted on the kemenag.go.id page. , Wednesday (10/11/2017).

Dessy’s fight is not easy. He admitted that he faced the toughest competition in Japan.

This year, the championship, which takes place every four years, brings together no less than 30 countries. Among them, South Africa, the United States, Australia, Brazil, the Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Canada, Namibia, Taiwan and Singapore.

Regarding her appearance wearing the hijab, Dessy emphasized that it never limited her activities. Dessy believes that everyone is capable of success.

“Students and students will be able to excel if there is the will, intention, enthusiasm, motivation and support from the environment. In addition, if there is good supervision. God willing , they will succeed,” Dessy said.

In addition to preparing physically with exercise, Dessy also does not forget to always pray to Allah. Teachers and all students at MTsN Pemalang also provided support.

“On Monday, September 25, just before Ms. Dessy left, we held a flag ceremony. We all prayed that Ms. Dessy would succeed and receive a medal,” said MTsN Pemalang Director Mimbar.

Mimbar said that in addition to teaching physical education subjects, Dessy also teaches extracurricular karate. Mimbar is convinced that the success of Dessy will encourage young people to excel in the different fields in which they operate.

“Ms. Dessy often advises students to succeed from a young age. As the head of MT, I am very proud of Ms. Dessy’s achievements. I hope to encourage and inspire her students, amen,” he said declared.
