TRIBUNNEWS.COM, NUSA DUA – British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak joins world leaders from the G20 to launch the Indonesian Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) in G20 Summit, baliTuesday (15/11/2022).
The UK has expressed its readiness to support the implementation of this partnership, including through World Bank guarantee funding of $1 billion or the equivalent of Rs 15.5 trillion. .

Rishi Sunak said the global infrastructure deficit is huge and no country can solve it alone.
“Today, I am proud that we are launching the Indonesian Partnership for Just Energy Transition, to help accelerate Indonesia’s transition to a green economy and unlock billions in private finance for new infrastructure,” said the British Prime Minister in a statement.
The Indonesian JETP launch builds on the momentum of other JETP breakthroughs at the COP27 Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
The JETP has developed an ambitious roadmap to reduce emissions from the electricity sector, based on a strategy of developing renewable energies and gradually reducing the use of coal.
This transition will also help ensure strong economic growth, create new, higher-skilled jobs, reduce pollution and provide a more prosperous future for Indonesians.
This agreement focuses on achieving an energy transition that takes into account the impacts, direct and indirect, on all workers, communities and community groups, and ensures that they are accompanied by concrete commitments. .
Indonesia’s JETP will mobilize US$20 billion over the next three to five years.
The IPG will mobilize $10 billion in public funding and the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) task force will mobilize and facilitate $10 billion in private funding.
The JETP will be a long-term political agreement between the Indonesian government and the US-Japan led IPG with Britain, Germany, France, European Union, Canada, Italy , Norway and Denmark.
